Big Milestone and Many Mini Updates

Hopefully my nurses won't come in to measure my blood pressure right now because I have a sneaking suspicion that it'd be kind of high right now. I just created a rather long post and was about to publish it when I tried to unify the fonts. Ummmm, yeah, I accidentally erased the entire post! With that in mind, I'll wait to do an update on all of the health stuff until tomorrow after I've seen my doctor and have a better understanding of what the go forward plan is.

A quick overview is that Clay has looked great every time he's been monitored. I've had three monitoring sessions in a row without any contractions followed by back to back sessions where they caught me contracting then one session without contractions. To Jim and me that means we're not banking on anything at this point and are just going with the flow. We aren't making guesses as to when Clay will be born, we're just praying and focusing on getting to at least 37 weeks. However, I am thrilled to report that we've made it past the first date that my doctor wanted us to get to which was 35 1/2 weeks (that was Friday / Saturday) so that deserves and thank you Lord and a hearty woo hoo!
I can't really complain about bed rest, it's doing what it's supposed to do (reduce my blood pressure and keep Clay safe). It's pretty easy on me - I mean really, I just sit in bed and get to surf the net, watch TV / movies, and read. Sleep is a little hard to come by due to frequent check ups by the staff (my favorite was when I got my blood pressure checked at 4:30 AM) but the fact that Clay is staying put means that my body is rested so that's great.

The person who bed rest is the most taxing on is Jim; he hasn't complained and seems more than happy to do everything that he is doing but that's the thing... he's doing EVERYTHING! Boy am I grateful to have a wonderful guy like him; he spent the weekend keeping me company and still managed to run errands for me, organize all of my childhood stuff in storage boxes, get stuff moved to the attic, and got the nursery pulled together (put down the carpet, organized the closet, hung drapes, and so much more)! Below is the end result of all of Jim's effort (and proof positive that Clay gets to go home to a pretty cool room!):

One thing that bed rest has given me is so much for which to be thankful. I have incredible friends and family who check up on me and keep my spirits lifted, I have a baby who is doing very well and just keeps "cooking", I have great medical care to make sure that all is well, and I have an awesome husband who is more than I could ever think to ask for. Thanks to each of you for being blessings personified! Much love!

  5. I have no idea what I just clicked to make my comment go away. Weird! Anyway, I was just saying that Clay's nursery is SO cute! I love everything you have picked and Jim did a great job getting it together. I just found your blog I guess Jim had told Nick you guys had one, but I just now found it.
