Mother May I launch into a little post about May?

Clay started off the month with a bang!  At 13 months old, this was the first time he'd stood on his own since his big bust back in February; this time, there was no looking back (and no falling down and getting a busted lip)!  Big boy!
This is my little man on our second Mother's Day together.  It was an absolutely perfect day (great planning by Daddy!). It started with breakfast in bed, complete with cards, a gift, and flowers.  After playing at the house, we did a picnic in a nearby park, then got to "treat" ourselves to an unexpected gift of a new computer because ours crashed (UGGG) but we love the new one, then home to nap, then play some more, then dinner with friends at MiCocina - Jim took care of Clay the entire meal so that I could enjoy socializing without cutting food into itty bitty pieces and diving for toys (seriously, that was a FANTASTIC gift!), then the three of us grabbed a post dinner frozen yogurt and did our nightly routine.  Truly a wonderful day spent with my two favorite Morgan Men!
The next week started off with a fun play date at our house.  Clay and I hosted for our playgroup and we got to bring out his new water table (his birthday present from Granny and Poppa).  It was a blast and the weather was wonderful, that -  a long with great friends - made it a great morning.  Clay also had his last swim lesson that day and did a wonderful job - he blew bubbles in the water and started kicking while he swam!  He also experimented a bit more with using a spoon on his own!

Later that week I took Clay up to Bright Horizons (the onsite daycare at JCP that he attended when I was working) so that I could attend my best friend's grandmother's funeral.  I was so honored to bare witness to that marvelous lady's life.  She was such a blessing to her family and all who knew her so I couldn't imagine not being there for a lady who epitomized grace and showed me such kindness in all of the years I knew her.

It was a wonderful service and I ended up getting back to Dallas much earlier than anticipated.  Since Clay's childcare was paid for the entire day, I took advantage of the rare moment of solitude and headed to the mall where I promptly bought one ticket for Something Borrowed, Something Blue.  I loved the book and its sequel and but didn't want to drag Jim to it.  It's the first movie I've seen on my own and I have to say, it was a pretty great way to do it!  I got to enjoy all the jokes without looking over to make sure that my honey thought it was funny too since I'd forced him to see it.  It was great.  Once the movie was over, I was itching to see little man so I picked him up from daycare (where he'd done great!) and we made the rounds to see my pals at JCP.

That weekend, we took Clay out so that he could play with his toddler-sized golf set.  He decided that he was more interested in playing with Daddy's clubs instead!
The next week we received surprising news, we learned that Rachel (Jim's sister) who was due toward the end of June was in labor and set to deliver that day (May 16); this was scary because she was 5 weeks and 1 day away from her due date.  The gorgeous Nora Elizabeth Fernihough came into the world early that afternoon!  She was a over 6 pounds and was quite a long little girl!  She had some breathing issues at first and had to work through some jaundice but was home just shy of one week later.  I don't have a new born picture to share but will share a picture from our first visit with her when I get to that June (let me tell you, it will be well worth the wait because she is a little darling and we love her sooooooooo much!)  That week was a great reminder of how great God is!

Later that week, we met some friends at the Dallas Farmer's Market and let me just tell you, Clay was a fan!  The vendors kept cutting off fresh pieces of fruit and handing it to our babes to enjoy!

That week ended with a very special experience!  I got a text message from my best friend, Rachel, asking if she could come over because she had something for Clay.  I said absolutely, started shaking - called Jim - and got into prep "because your best friend is most likely coming over to (HOORAY!!!) tell you that she is pregnant"- mode!  I just had this weird feeling (and because I am weird good like that, I'd already bought a special book to give to Baby Ragan on the random day in the future that I found out that Baby Ragan would be coming into this world).  Well the next hour or so was one of the longest hours of my life (I wrote a note to the baby and wrote a note to Rachel and Casey) and then just waited...  Soon Rachel was on my door step with a present for Clay (which I couldn't open fast enough, in fact, Clay was still sleeping when I opened "his" present!) (I will post a picture another time; I keep trying to load it but blogger won't let me).  Anywho - it was a fab t-shirt that said "Baby Ragan's BFF"!!!!  I was thrilled, started jumping up and down, crying and got to hand Rach my obsessive (but dead on) gift!  That's not all, she told me that Casey was waiting outside with Baby Ragan's first sonogram.  SUCH A WONDERFUL DAY!!!!  They will make wonderful parents and that sweet baby will be so very loved!  (Oh and Clay has the PERFECT shirt to wear to the hospital when he meets his best this December!)

Also, on May 23, Clay started taking little shuffle steps without holding onto anything.  I have a picture of this as well but will lump it in with my next post (hopefully blogger will be working a bit better then!)

Okay, I think this is where the I'll end this post since because the rest of May and the start of June will be all about our family vacay to California!  So all in all, May was great - wonderful times with my sweet family of three, great times with friends, the birth of my most favoritest second born niece AND her coming home healthy and without any lingering issues, AND finding out that my bestie was pregnant -- wooooooo hooo!!!!
