Marching out of March

With Clay's first birthday party being a big success, all we had left to do after the guests left was to put a tired baby down for a nap, eat dinner (pizza), play with cousins, laugh at the way Joseph can make Clay truly HEE-HAW, open presents and go to bed.  So that's exactly what we did!

The next day, we went out to the Ft. Worth zoo with Yaya where we met up with Granny, Poppa, Aunt Rachel, Uncle David, Joseph, and Lauren.  Boy was it fun!  It was Clay's second time at a zoo (his first time was when he was 6 months and was at the zoo in Central Park) but this zoo visit had much more to off in the way of animals and family entertainment!

We kept thinking that Clay would fall asleep but he wanted to make sure that he got to see everything that his cousins saw.  As such, he was awake through all the exhibits, through lunch, and didn't fall asleep until it started raining and we were forced to head back to the car.  It was a great way to cap off his fantastic birthday weekend!

Just in case there was any doubt, we picked the best days for Clay's party (warm and sunshine), and the best day for the zoo (overcast and eventually rainy).  Yes, the party date was set weeks in advance but it sure did work out nicely!

A sleepy Clay with his proud Yaya and happy Granny; this was in the monkey / gorilla habitat - he loved them and was amazed at the way they chased each other

Joseph, Lauren, and Aunt Erin were the only ones brave enough to venture into a dark cave!
