THREE MONTHS AND COUNTING...

Bonjour!

As of today, we are officially 3 months from Clay’s estimated due date!

Developments this week are:
- Over the last week and a half, I’ve been feeling these subtle kick-lick movements but there are too many and too repetitious to be kicks. It seems as though, baby Clay is getting the hiccups on an almost daily basis!
- I went to the doctor today and everything looks good. The issues from two weeks ago aren’t around any more, the cervix is still long and closed (meaning, it’s doing its job to keep Clay inside). Dr. Wagman did an belly ultrasound just to be sure everything else was good and it was! Plenty of fluid surrounding him, check! Strong heart beat, check! And new visible change… breathing baby – check – well, kind of – babies “practice breathing” by processing amniotic fluid through their lungs - the doctor and I were able to see Clay practice breathing! Also, I passed my glucose test from last time (woo hoo, no gestational diabetes), now I just have to my iron levels up!
- I am measuring “exactly” at 27 weeks. Around 20 weeks, the doctor can take a tape measure (stretch it from the pubic bone to the sternum) and the centimeters displayed is how far along you are – it can vary slightly but I was right at 27 centimeters.
- This weekend, Clay gets to come with Mommy and Daddy on their last pre-baby vacation (our “babymoon”). We’re going to Vegas so that should be a lot of fun. The plan is to eat good food, get a massage (for me) and a little casino time (for Jim), and see the Beatles Cirque du Soleil show! It should be a lot of fun – hopefully I’ll have a picture to share next week!

Hope all is well and that 3 months from now we’ll be sending you an email to share our first picture of Clay!!!!

Love,
Erin
