Hi!
So we’re just rocking and rolling into the 31st week of pregnancy. Everything is good here; judging by some of the aches and pains I’m starting to feel, I think Clay is starting to run out of room but I’m happy to continue to provide him lodging until he’s fully cooked and is ready to come into the world.
After last week’s doctor’s visit, we started doing “kick counts”. Jim and I are supposed to set aside 1 – 2 hours each day and measure how long it takes for Clay to kick / flip / and jab his way to 10 movements. You are supposed to do this during his most active times of day which for us means 9 PMish. Luckily, our little guy is an over achiever and typically gets in all 10 movements within about 20 minutes or less. It’s nice having that time set aside each day to just focus on the bump and what’s going on in his little world!
Side note - with pregnancy speeding towards full-fledged motherhood, I think God has decided that I need a lesson in vanity (more specifically, how to get over a bit of mine). So how did the Big Guy prep me for this? He made me renew my driver license; oh and renewing online was not an option which meant new picture. So, I’m switching out my remarkably good picture (hey, it was taken 1 week after I got married) for one where I’m 7 months pregnant and it MORE than shows in my face. Oh well, Clay’s totally worth it [and again, I think this will help me get over some of that vanity that would not go over very well in the delivery room].
I think that’s just about it! Hope all is well!
Much love,
EM
