Summer Time and the Living's Easy - June 2011

After a wonderful vacation to kick off our summer, we dove right into summer in Texas... literally! We were fortunate enough to procure a membership to our neighborhood pool and took advantage of it; here are pics of our pool time fun and much more (INCLUDING the most IMPORTANT event of June:  Meeting our sweet niece, Nora Elizabeth):

One of our first times at the Pool!

Clay's favorite spot; in June he started just hanging out on the hearth.   He was walking around the living room and I asked if he wanted to go sit in his "special spot" (a phrase I coined right then and there) and he just went straight over to his spot; guess it was aptly named!

Splash park by our house; we met lots of friends from play group here, as well as sweet Ella Grace, Claire Bear, and just went solo some too!

Playing with the splash table Granny and Poppa Gave Clay for his birthday!

Being super sweet and funny!

Having a blast at Parker's B-day at the flight museum!

Just walking around!  That's kind of the crazy thing about him waiting until just after 14 months to walk.  He obviously waited until he was totally confident because we had maybe three days of walking around after him to make sure he was okay and then realized he was pretty steady on his feet and didn't need us to follow him anxiously.

Art classes started back up in June - Hooray!!!  So we'd play at the Children's Museum before class on some days!

About to make art!

We're both a little messy!

My favorite artist!

We had a couple of friends over to hand-feet-arm-leg-paint cards / art for Father's Day

Watching the Maverick's Victory Parade with Daddy!

Meeting Sweet, Beautiful, Perfectly Made Nora Elizabeth Fernihough - L.O.V.E. her!

Uncle Jim got in on the Nora cuddling!  Isn't she the most!?!

All of the Dads with their kiddos!

Clay thought taking a family picture was hilarious!!!

Mema and sweet Nora!  I think these two little ladies are in love!

Cousin Picture (minus the littlest cousin)

We had a fun play date; here are some of our little friends!

Clay, Mollie, and Claire hugging on each other - so sweet!

Summer brought all kinds of changes for this developing boy!  By the end of June, he was walking so very well, would smile so big when you asked him where his smile was, he'd put food on his head and thought it was hilarious to try to keep it there the entire meal, he also got more vocal and tried to imitate several words we'd say.  He started saying fish "issh" and pointing to goldfish the snack and at the pool was obsessed with point out the birds and saying "ba ba" (for bird!)

Smiling at lunch and feeding himself so well!

Brushing his own teeth (we still helped to make sure they were brushed well); but he was really interested in becoming more self sufficient!

We ended June on a "funny" experience in which I became "that mom"  for multiple reasons.  Clay was up screaming throughout the night; he typically only does this if he is teething and hasn't been given any ibuprofen or he has an ear infection.  I just knew it was an ear infection.  Not so much; we went to the doctor to learn he was most likely constipated and had gas ("that mom#1").  To "cure" him we needed prune and or pear juice so we went to the store, and I took him to the store in his jammies (that mom #2).  No worries, he got better quickly and I only saw one family that we knew but their kid's name is super strange and they were moving across the globe so I decided that spotting didn't count.
So jam-packed month-o-fun!  More stuff to come soon!
