Musings by the Morgans: September 2011

Dressed and ready for the first Texas Tech game of the season; we were in Dallas but Clay supported his team from afar by wearing his Tech stuff, doing "Guns Up" upon request, and insisting that we play with Texas Tech puzzle that we had set aside for a later date.

We celebrated Jim's birthday early as a family because I would be out of town for a bachelorette party the weekend of his birthday. we had steak for dinner and ice cream cake for dessert!

Since I was going to be MIA for Jim's birthday, his parents and our sweet niece, Lauren, came in town to celebrate.

I gave each of the babes a kiss and Clay then insisted on kissing Claire square on the lips - she just giggled and giggled!

I don't know why, but it felt really important to take a picture of what I made for Clay's lunch so I thought I should share it here (pasta salad, peaches, and orange-cranberry bran muffins).

All ready to go - it was nice seeing him able to stand upright with the bag on his back. Just the week prior the weight of the bag messed up his balance and he'd walk sideways and fall down a little while wearing it.

Clay's first day was great - I don't have a picture of pick up but they said he stopped crying almost right away and that it was the best first day ever. Clay shared with a "friend" and they actually thought the two of them were old pals because they "talked" back and forth all day and shared toys and laughed together. Then when we were leaving his other teacher, Miss Chris, said "Bye Clay, I love you!!!"

For months on end, Clay's favorite word was "yeah" - which was fantastic and totally reflected his uber agreeable demeanor. At pick up, his teachers were just laughing, they said "He's so agreeable. Today we thought all the kids were asleep and we said 'Looks like Clay is good.' Clay popped up, said 'Yeah!" and went back to sleep".

Toward the end of September, Jim took Clay to Lubbock for a football game. I stayed behind and went to an AMAZING Maroon 5 concert (Matt Nathanson opened and played for 45 minutes, Train then played for the next 45 minutes and Maroon 5 played for a good hour and a half - love them!!!)
